Wednesdays 10:30am:  Preschool Storytime

Tuesdays Beginning at 10:30 am: Homeschool Libratory (January 16 – March 26)

Fridays 10:30am-12pm: Friday Fun Day Playgroup

Saturdays: Fiber Friends 11am at the Flat Iron Cooperative – Learn to knit or bring your project and hang out – all levels welcome. 

 

Teen Programs

Outburst Arts: 
A free monthly event for teens @ Main Street Arts

35 Main Street, Saxtons River, VT
First Friday of each month from 7-9pm
★ Make art, crafts, listen to music, and spend time with friends
★ Snacks are provided
★ Propose your own visual, performing, or literary arts project!

Programs marked with an * are recommended for older youth/teens.

Wednesday, January 10 • 12:30pm
Solar Science (snow/cloudy date January 29)
Come to the library and view the sun safely using a Solar Telescope, Sunoculars, and Solar Eclipse glasses and learn about the exciting solar activities happening this year and how to safely view these events.  This program is brought to you by the Vermont Department of Libraries, NASA @ My Library, StarNet, and Solar Eclipse Activities for Libraries (SEAL).

SoVerA (
snow date February 15)
Southern Vermont Astronomy Group (SoVerA) member, Claudio Véliz, will give a presentation about the upcoming total solar eclipse in April.

Tuesday, March 5 11am
Make a telescope (
snow date March 19)
(open to all ages, recommended for kids)
Make a paper telescope and experiment with shadow, light, and reflection. Supplies are limited and will be available on a first come, first served basis.

Bob Pappalardo

Project scientist of NASA’s Europa Clipper Mission, Bob Pappalardo will speak about the mission and why Europa may be one of the best places to look for environments where life could exist beyond Earth. 

Monday, April 8 2pm-5pm
Total Solar Eclipse
Don’t miss the total solar eclipse! The next eclipse that can be seen from the contiguous United States won’t happen until 2044. There will be solar activities, experiments, and free solar glasses for viewing the eclipse safely. Glasses provided by  NASA @ My Library, StarNet, and Solar Eclipse Activities for Libraries (SEAL).
