Description: Ken Burns' The Vietnam War Documentary /Panel Discussion

Prior to its release on PBS stations nationwide, Ken Burns’ “The Vietnam War” documentary film will be shown at the Bellows Falls Opera House (7 on the Square.) This free screening is made possible thanks to a collaboration between Vermont PBS, Rockingham Library and the Bellows Falls Opera House. While the entire documentary runs 18 hours, this one-hour preview (assembled by the film’s editors) covers all 10 episodes of the film.
Following the film, Vermont PBS's Community Engagement Director, Chuck Pizer will facilitate a panel discussion. Panel members will include:
• Susan Hammond, Director of The War Legacies Project (www.warlegaciesproject.org/) which helps children in Southeast Asia who are disabled due to old land mines from the war or from the genetic birth defects caused by exposure to agent orange).
• Aaron Phillips, Director of The Warrior Connection (https:// aaron Phillipswww.warriorconnection.org/) runs a retreat in southern VT for veterans nation-wide who suffer from PTSD.
• John Tracy, State Director of Senator Patrick Leahy’s Vermont office and a Vietnam Veteran (www.leahy.senate.gov/)
