About the Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Rockingham Library is a Non-Profit Organization whose mission is to:

* FOCUS public attention on Library Services and needs.
* PROMOTE the use of Library resources and programs.
* ENHANCE Library services by providing funding and volunteers.

Since reorganizing in Jan., 2010, the Friends group has been very active and true to its mission of providing support to the library.  Listed are some of the ways this has been accomplished:                                 


  • -Annual Gala Dinner
  • -Launched the 'Be A Friend, Bring A Friend Campaign'
  • -Recruitment of members      
  • -Revised and updated bylaws
  • -Developed and printed a Friends brochure
  • -Established PayPal payment capability for the library website
  • -Provided refreshments for various adult and youth department events
  • -Hosted two holiday parties/raffles
  • -Promoted the Circus Smirkus documentary showing
  • -Assistance with annual library book sale
  • -Sponsored annual spring plant sales
