Description
These four photographs were probably made to be used as evidence in a court case. Note on back of each says "of conditions on Canal St. at the time of an accident, November 7, 1917, when a pair of horses and cart owned by Contractor A.M. Bragg was backed off the bank into canal. Horses were drowned and bodies not recovered for soe (sic) days. Driver was Allen Beam. There had been a wash-out of the street caused by a storm just previously. A full account of it is in the Times of November 8, 1917."
