Free Community Screening of Emmy-winning “The Librarians,” at the Bellows Falls Opera House

The Rockingham Free Public Library and the Friends of the Rockingham Free Public Library, along with numerous other public libraries on both sides of the Connecticut River, have joined together to present a free screening of The Librarians at the Bellows Falls Opera House on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 7pm.

This timely documentary, winner of the 2026 Emmy Award for Exceptional Merit in Documentary Filmmaking, follows librarians on the front lines of the growing movement to ban books and restrict access to information in public and school libraries.

Through the stories of librarians, educators, and community members, the film explores the importance of intellectual freedom, the freedom to read, and the role libraries play in protecting our right to access diverse ideas and perspectives.

All are welcome!
